If you don't run an amp, all you need is an RCA Phono Jack or BNC on the
back panel, a simple toggle switch on the back panel, and a pair of 1n4007
diodes. Less than $10. If amp, I would add in a reed relay to switch the
RX ant to ground during TX.

So true. If there is a signal its in receive mode or on that its in
transmit mode, like RX+ or TX+ or PTT on the control connector that can
run an external relay to put the receiver on a separate antenna. Not as
fast as a PIN diode switch, but the PIN diode switch would be possible
too. Might need a half amp at 12 volts for a good PIN diode switch.
Probably can borrow circuits from an OMNI V or VI. Not much need to
invent anything.
