If I remember correctly from removing a battery from the Orion, it is about
one inch square and about a half inch thick with wires coming out of it to
plug into the PC board. It has been about 6 years ago since I had to do the
job.

That's definitely not the case.  I just can't remember exactly where the
battery is located.
