I don't know why it would be different here in the UK, but 220k seems to 
be a much more common value than 250k. Here's a typical distributor:

If you are looking to cover a decade in 3 steps of equal ratios you get 
values of 100k, 215k, 464k, 1M; that would make 220k a much closer value 
than 250k.
