My novice receiver (in 1959), a war surplus BC-348, had 100 kHz dial calibration; i.e., 7.0, 7.1, etc -- to say nothing of my homebrew SWL regen and a National SW-3, where you couldn't even tell what *band* you were on without looking at the plug-in coils.
