If you can make such a recording (WAV or mp3), just tune to a carrier,
matching your sidetone frequency, and engage SAF at a narrow setting
centered on your sidetone frequency.
Thanks Barry, I will give it a go - it might take a while Hi...

I don't have the issues you're describing on my 565 SAF and it shouldn't
have anything to do with your subreceiver type.
What would really help is a recording of your SAF in action. A bit of
spectral analysis of such a recording might reveal a lot.

Happy Easter all
When I tune a CW station in using the SPOT control and then listen to
that
station with the 50Hz SAF in I have to re-tune with the RIT to peak the
CW
note. It seems to vary but is around 50-100Hz off.
Is there a freq adjust I have to make or do I have to wait for the new
2nd
RX which will align all the RX frequencies up? I havent tried all the
bands
nor have I tried USB/LSB switching on the same band.
I do like the SAF control and in a contest I have it around 150Hz -it
works
great - I have 600 and 300 Hz filters fitted.
