_______________________________________ James, Yes our USB cables have Prolific chips inside. Since Windows pushed out a updated driver 3 weeks ago we've had a increase of service emails and calls regarding cables failing. The attached service sheet will step you through the procedure to make sure the correct driver is installed. This has fixed the majority of programming problems we have encountered. Our serial programming cables do not use a chip. They communicate straight through the comm port to the radio. Feel free to pass this information along.
