Hi Bob,

You stated in your recent post that:

"not many people were aware that you could bring an Omni 5 right on qrq using a
pot on a circuit board in the rig.
This was the main gripe on a very excellent rig when it was new. Many hams got rid of their omni 5s because of this. I found it and could never get the tentec service guys to point this out! It was strange. I think I even talked to the Jack Burchfield one time regarding
this problem"

Bob, can you share what pot and board did you find in the Omni V that does this?

As you know, the Omni VI had either a crystal oven or TCXO for master frequency
reference but the V did not.

I have an Omni V with Carl's V.9 chip in it and you can freeze the display and
tune the rig for calibration. It is very effective.

I really love the V because of its lack of DSP that,IMO, was not well
implemented in the VI as it remains in line even when not activated.

Thanks for sharing any info on the V.
