What is actually needed is a common mode choke with a VERY high common 
mode Z, sufficiently high that the common mode current is VERY small.  
That VERY high Z is what keeps it from frying with high power. It also 
kills both feedline radiation and reception.
BTW -- sub-culture is a close relative of "religious." :)
