If it all goes that route Barry, then they better offer one heck of a
preselector as an option.  Otherwise that will spell the end of multi-multi
stations.  No more running 2 transmitters on 40m during Field Day (one on
CW, the other on SSB).

Are there really that many features in the K3 and Omni7 that the Orion
lacks?

Personally, I think DDC/.DUC is the future of rig design and all new rigs
ten years from now will be DDC/DUC.  The real innovation will come in the
rig form factor and interface.
