I waited to buy until the factory modified the new boards. My radio was built 
this past March and was modified at the factory. 

Apparently not many people have experienced problems with production from prior 
years.  Kenwood has turned those radios around in about one week. Those ops 
driving solid state amps should really have their 590S modified.
