I've never needed a preamp with a dynamic mic into a Ten Tec rig. Last 
one I owned was an Omni-V, and I used a low-Z pro dynamic mic with it 
going straight into the mic jack. I'd be surprised if that's changed. 
K4TAX has noted that some Ten Tec rigs have a trim pot to set mic gain 
that you access through a hole in the side.
