Hummm Without the amp sitting in front of me, I'd say that with NO resting plate current is one mighty big clue. I don't have the schematic in front of me either, but some amps with 500z tubes had a fuse in the cathode line. DONT quote me on that Now this is important. If you don't have the skills, the tools, or the know how. DON'T get your fingers inside. If you get across the output of the power supply; you will be killed. And... It will hurt as you die!
