Bob....I have a electric vacuum-type solder remover station...that
should help.
So the boards have all plug in wires...I am guessing the board plugs in
as well?
I also have the owner's manual, and looked at the schematic. It would
seem that with the board in hand, if I put 12 volts (or whatever the
coil is) on that parallel coil line for K4 and K5, I can then measure
which relay is not closing....before I start wielding the solder iron.
This is a mint Omni VI+, that has never had the lid popped open, but I
guess no rig is immune to the strike of Murphy!!

PS...Thanks so much for your help, and the rest of the group!

The board will need to be removed from the radio. It is a tight fit

need to be removed as well as the bracket that supports the speaker.
Everything plugs in and cables are or were or should be numbered.
Take care in removing the relays. Too much heat and one will lift the
solder pads, creating another issue to be resolved.
Yes, either K4 or K5 can be bad, i.e. open coil is typical. There
could be other issues not causing the relays to switch for those 2
bands but it is more common for the coil on a relay to open. One
relay being K5 switches the input to the filter section from the PA
and the other one K4 switches the output of the filter section to the
TR relay. Both 15M and 17M use the same filter section.
Yes, you can remove one relay and measure that one. Then you can
measure the one remaining on the board. As my luck goes, the one I
remove is always the good one.
If you don't have a schematic, I suggest you obtain one. The 564
manual is available for download on the Tentec Website under DOWNLOADS
and then Obsolete-Manual-Downloads. Scroll down to the 564 and click
on the link to the right that says 564 Manual.
See page 4-3 for the schematic of the Low Pass Filter board.

Bob...is the low pass filter board such that the relays can be
removed with the board in the radio...or does the low pass filter
board have to come out? Am I correct in that EITHER K4 or K5 could
be bad causing both bands to go out? So, if I replaced them
both...I'd solve the problem...or take one out, then I can measure
them individually...one out, and one in the radio...hoping that I
removed the bad one. Is that about right??

Most likely a relay coil open being either K4 and/or K5 on the Low
Pass Filter board. Both bands, 17M & 15M, use the same filter
section which is switched by those two relays. This is the vertical
board at the back of the radio.
If you pull them to check them, replace them. Since the coils are
wired parallel, it is a bit of a challenge to figure just which one
is bad with in circuit measurements. My luck, I usually remove the
good one first. Go figure! Tentec Service has replacements.
There's 12 of them on the board. Unless you have time and money to
replace all 12, I'd order 4 pcs and replace 2 keeping 2 as spare.

Can anyone suggest if there is anything to check on this problem?
OMNI VI+, otherwise working fine, but....
No output on 15 or 17 meters.
I can hear the signal on another receiver, but no output at all.
Receive OK, and all other bands transmit fine.
Is there something switched in for just 15 and 17?
Thanks for any thoughts!
