No, I believe that the Orion II production was halted because the
manufacturer of the processor announced End of Life and discontinued
production.
Unlike the previous time this happened; the Orion processor was also
discontinued, but replaced by a more powerful one which ended up on the
Orion II.
While I don't think we've heard the entire story. and I'm not saying that we
will. I'm not ready to head to the hardware store for a pick & shovel. Does
make me wonder why so many hams are getting ready to dig Ten Tec's grave,
though.

Interesting that Ten Tec halted production on the Orion citing that because
of the increase in the cost pf parts, Had a big blow out sell of the Omni
and now they have halt the production because lack of parts....Now Ten Tec
has been sold again...Will be interesting to see what happens to them in the
next few months. Would be nice if they announce a new radio at Dayton but
I'm not holding my breath on that. As they say.... "the writing is on the
wall"..well I myself hope not. I have purchased Ten Tec gear for the last
15 years or so and hope to be able to in the future.

You guys had demand for a radio (Omni VII) but the story line was that Ten
Tec didn't have parts to produce it. Some of those customers are lost
forever and have moved on to other competitor products. Your current
customer base are former or current customers. The Omni VII is a tired
design and deficient in many areas and I have provided feedback on the Ten
Tec Website in an effort to drive improvements on a new flagship rig. I like
my Omni VII but it needs some improvements to drive product demand. I hope
Ten Tec survives as we need American made products, but the churn does not
bode well to instill customer confidence. You guys will need to get bold in
price point, offer a very good warranty on a good product in order to drive
production numbers. Time will tell if the new owners can develop the capital
needed to invigorate the product line and develop customer demand.
I hope for the best, but I am pessimistic for the future.
