Well I am a bit hesitant to throw out comparisons, especially on this
reflector. Add to that, I'm not really technically to argue the pluses and
minuses of decimal point vs decimal point. From a strictly personal appraisal I
think the eagle is a fine radio. I wouldn't however call it a k3 killer. The
ten tec is very easy to operate intuitively. It has a couple small quirks that
I don't like but many approve wholeheartedly. I would prefer that the vox
setting stay in memory when shutting off and restarting rig. I understand the
rationale of maybe forgetting but think you have just as good of chance
forgetting when the radio is on. Another minor point, is that I would have
added a second antenna connector. Would enhance flexibility. The k3 has a
better capability of being able to tune your transmit and receive audio. No
problem with the eagle in my opinion but different people like different tones.

Like I said, i'm not really able to give a technical appraisal. Merely what I
like. At the most recent price of 1099 with the filters included and the tuner,
the eagle is a fantastic buy. I think it's almost unfair to compare with a k3
because of the price differences. If I was a person who had paid 1800 or more
for a eagle, I wouldn't think it competes with the k3 but at 1099, I think it
does real well.

Another point is that I feel the k3 is easier to work rtty and psk with.

All in all, my review probably lacks much merit, but from my simple shack, I
like what I like and what I like is impacted by what I learn from all you guys.
