Yes ORION (and OII) do this perfectly.

As an example,
one can point the RX ant input to the main RCVR(front panel matrix) and (via menu settings) point ANT 2, using a different second RX antenna, to the SUB-RCVR. The TX antenna (connected to ANT 1) can still be used as transmit antenna only.

Note: this way you can configure 3 different antennas to an ORION; 2x RX antenna 1x TX antenna.

But you need to have more than 1 RX antennas available at your QTH.
Using your TX antenna for diversity can be less effective as that usually does not offer the best RX performance.

Even a low (5-10ft high) kind of short NVIS antenna will perform superb as a 2nd RX antenna, catching high angle incoming signals. I use this very effectively on Topband, where often the QSO is floating between left and right ear, but the QSO exchange was passed in 1 turn.

Best Wishes for 2017 !

If it's from two synchronized receivers, its called diversity. The K3 can do that too if you buy the second RX. Does the Orion do that with its second RX?
