Topband: Ten-Tec Orion, et al

K6SE's postings in re his Ten-Tec Orion experiences have made compelling 
reading. In my shack, the Icom IC-746 PRO has exhibited the best receiver 
characteristics of any HF transceiver I've owned. I wonder how it would 
stack up against the competition? Especially on 160 CW?

One proviso: the IC-746 PRO needs considerable operator input to take full 
advantage of its 32-bit floating-point DSP processor.

Anyhow, just a thought.
