My experience with slopers in 9V has been good. The first model (MK1) was
about 100 feet long fed against the copper pipe water system of the
apartment building and a few indoor radials. It took about 27uH to make it
resonate. Not bad results.

The second model (MK2) was a full quarter wave, fed against the same copper
system that does all over the 13 floors of the apartment block and shows
continuity everywhere, right up to the huge steel water tanks on the roof.
(I am on the 11th floor). Good results.

The third model (MK3), now in use, is a half wave on 160m, same feed point,
starting up 44 metres, and sloping out at about 45 degrees stopping into a
tree up about 10 metres. High voltage problems aside, this one works the
best.

The first two gathered 95 DXCC in about a year and a half, the third version
took the total to 103. Being next to a salt water river helps, and the RX
dipole on the roof hears far, far better.

My 2p worth.
