Totally agreed on interconnection of radials. The half as long comment was only
made to show wire would be wasted in my opinion if they were not bus style
interconnected. They would be totally overlapping each other between elements
when not interconnected. One can then use that wasted wire to shorten the
distance the rf has to travel in the ground by using it elsewhere to add more
radials. Having built them both ways it really shows when you stand there and
look at the actual ground covered by wire. There is lots of wire in the middle
if they overlap. Personally I would rather have more wires farther away where
the distance between them gets greater. I think interconnecting might actually
help as well. You can get more radials for the same footage of wire when using
the bus. YMMV
