All,

I purchase my Fair Rite 31 cores from Mouser. They stock clamp on as well as
solid cores:

http://www.mouser.com/catalog/catalogUSD/640/937.pdf

Unfortunately, the only 2.4 OD core woth a large 1.4 ID is a 43 mix.

They also stock 61 mix which is good for baluns,

Since I only run 100 watts I use a teflon version of the thin RG174 coax ( I
don't have the designation at hand) for my chokes.

Bill;

K4SAV mentioned that obtaining ferrite cores is sometimes a problem. Are you
running high power thus the need for RG213? I only run 100w and am using a
clamp-on ferrite (mix 31) per K9YC's paper.  I use a Fair Rite P/N 0431173551
which allows me to loop 6 turns of RG8X through the internal 0.75" opening.
These are available from Newark as their P/N 96B5352 The cost is $5.28 each and
there is no min order with Newark.
