From the west, this is pretty much a NA only contest, good for working
(non-QRP) WAS. I have WAS so don't bother.

One or two QSOs didn't make it into the log for a reason I would like to
share. When the band is open to Europe for the East Coast, it is common
for us West Coast people to end up on their frequency as it is totally
clear on this end.
The total focus of east coast stations on Europe to the extent that their TX
and RX antenna systems are tweaked to NOT hear us, and when the path to EU
goes to bed, they do too, has caused me to lose interest in 160M contests.
This in spite of the fact that my station includes full-wave reversible
Beverages to EU/VK and JA/SA, and VE3DO loops phased 5/8 wave to Europe.
Over the two decades I've been in NorCal, this practice has gotten much worse
-- ten years ago, I was two states short of QRP WAS on Topband. For more than
five years, the most I'll do is get on for a few hours Saturday night to pass
out Qs to those not in that crowd.
