which is pretty darn close to 48db or 6db/S unit. As to what S9
means on K3KO meter, he'll have to measure it to find out.
My point.
If you use a voltmeter on the AGC line (your S meter will do if it's
calibrated) and remember that S units reference a voltage ratio
so that the 6db/S unit translates to 3db/S unit for a power ratio,
and you stay in the linear portion of the AGC range, then you can
use your AGC voltage or calibrated 'S' meter to estimate antenna
db which are a power ratio as you do whatever you're doing with
the antenna.
Calibrate, then measure.
