The described antenna will produce a very compressed pattern in the horizontal plane, but in the vertical plane will it produce low angle radiation so desirable for DX'ing? You need height to do that. Height is expensive! As I recall it was not much over a wavelength above the ground. Someone with the appropriate software should compute the pattern, I suspect it will be seen to be terrific in the horizontal plane and just average in the vertical plane.
