Here's some other good reasons.

1. The first (and last) time I considered using a crane to remove antennas
and dismantle a tower, the truck driver drove up, looked at the field, and
said,

"I CAN'T DRIVE OUT THERE -- IT'S TOO SOFT."

He then turned around and went home, taking his crane with him.

2. At my current QTH, a mountain goat would have difficulty getting to the
tower sight, let alone a crane truck. Some of us live where there are no
roads...
