I have used them, they work great on SHORT runs. If the runs(drops) get long
where the pulling weight gets significant, the grip will tend to distort the
cable covering and cut into it. Answer is to use several to distribute the
weight against the grip.

These are Kellem grips and are very handy for taking the weight of a
cable. They're particularly valuable when you've got a lot of unsupported
cable weight; i.e. when you're hoisting it and attaching it to the tower and
on crank-ups.
