Not disparaging the fiberglass here, although I did use Pstran on my tower.
But having had some bad experiences with other types of extruded or
rod-formed fiberglass, was wondering how the long term UV exposure affects
it. If there's no protective jacket, is it somehow chemically treated for
anti-UV? I've had some types (admittedly just cheap 'ol fiberglass fencepost
stuff) begin surface splintering in as little as three years. It's still
strong, but sure hard on the hands when those teeny tiny little fiberglass
slivers get under your skin.
