Well...to quantify....maybe.  What needs done and when is a hard thing to put 
your
finger on.  A heavy salt air environment may require a more aggressive 
maintenance
schedule than other enviroments.  I do not own a crank up but have seriously
considered a full blown tower.  As such, I tried to evaluate what kind of P.M. I
would need to do in order to keep everything healthy.  On my current meager 
setup,
I  do a twice yearly check on my rotor wire, all nuts, bolts and such, and
periodically check the hose clamps on the antenna, boom to mast plate, u-bolts,
rotor shelf and mounting bolts,  as well as the "state" of the coax.  I take
remedial action on any part of the system that appears to be in need of any 
work.
My thoughts on the cable would be the same.  If my own (hopefully sound!)
judgement thinks the cable is suspect, it should be replaced ... no set interval
unless the manufacturer sets one for me.  I cannot, however, see how a
manufacturer can not reccomend some time of inspection/replacement schedule.  
Am I
way off base here or that a part that you should expect to eventually wear 
out????
