Hi John, Right you are. I am out of town and forgot the exact boom picture. I know I was not very disturbed over the boom specs. I actually got my 2nd 4 el up Sunday but before I had time to tune the pair I had to leave town. I can only say I am extremmely impressed with the top 4 at 75 ft. The lower at 40ft (right now) sounds pretty good also. I need to play with the separation and tune the individual antennas when I get home to see how the stack will work. It's hard to believe that it can only get better. Good <uck to John. 73, Howard..K2HK ----Original Message Follows---- From: John Farber <kg6i@direcway.com> To: k2hk@arrl.net Subject: Re: [TowerTalk] Re: TowerTalk Digest, Vol 9, Issue 38 Date: Thu, 11 Sep 2003 10:22:07 -0700 > Howard and all, > > I was just about ready to order a pair of those 4el SteppIR yagis when I > read on their web page that the 32ft boom was only 1-3/4 inch diameter. > Yikes! The boom tapers from 2.5 inches down to 1 3/4 in at the ends onlyl Is fine, Plus uses a truss system. Is a BIG antenna too, anad heavy, 82 lbs. It seems to play just fine.
