Something to think about, with respect to getting wires and cables up to the
second floor is that standard rain gutter downspout makes a nice "raceway"
to run all the cables in that is inconspicuous (it looks just like your
other downspouts, can be painted to match, and is big enough to run many
coaxes inside).  You could even slit it so that you can slide stuff in and
out.  The plastic downspouts are even easier.
