Nowhere did I opine that it would meet or exceed an appropriate radial field... 
 I personally use radials, not copper plates, but then again my back yard is a 
half mile long by a quarter mile wide...  Yours also appears to be somewhere in 
that neighborhood, but not everyone else has that luxury...  The gentleman did 
say that he had 'maybe' a meter of space in one, or more, directions...  

Left to my druthers he and I would have a discussion on a pair of elevated 
Moxon radials as opposed to a plate - but I simply wanted to throw the plate 
idea into the mix...
