Since I have both a 3 element SteppIR and two CC A4S's up here I can see a
direct comparison. The SteppIR is almost always quieter in a rainstorm.
But I have to add that the A4's are sometimes quieter in normal conditions
than the SteppIR but I think that is because of differences in
height/direction and the fact that the SteppIR seems to be a "hotter"
antenna. I mean by "hotter" that the SteppIR seems to have a bit more gain
and corresponding background noise, especially on 20M. Not much difference
on 15/10.
