I also do the same as Gene with my 72 foot Trylon. I use a wire cage of three 14 Ga. wires arranged in a tee held out 2 ft from the tower by PVC pipe. The tap point is about 35 ft up the tower. I use an Omega match using Vac variables and have a KT34XA up top. The tower has 60 132 ft radials surrounding it. I have no trouble obtaining a very low match for about 1/2 the 160 band and run a KW into it. It works like a champ!
