Even if 1 dB by itself is unnoticable, the sum of multiple
1 dB improvements will be noticable. Thus if you pick up
~1 dB by using a legal limit (1500W) amplifier instead of
1200W, and a ~half dB of reduced feedline loss, and ~1.5 dB
of additional antenna gain, and ~1 dB of reduced ground loss,
etc, eventually you are talking about 3 to 6 dB which will
make a difference. This is why competitive stations worry
individual dB's.
