Even if you don't think you're allergic to stings, ask your Dr. for a
prescription for epinephrine injection pens ($20). I always climb with one
in my tool bucket. Tenderizer may treat the external pain/swelling, but it
does nothing about any unexpected anaphylactic shock which could prevent you
from getting off the tower. I've found that plain old toothpaste also works
well to treat the pain/swelling....

I've used Adolph's Meat Tenderizer in the past and it DOES work
wonders. For those interested how, the active ingredient is papain - a
proteolytic enzyme (breaks down proteins such as bee venom) and comes
from papaya or pineapple. After my bee sting while bicycling last week
(1st time this season, 3 times last season) I decided I'd start carrying
some Adolph's with me. So, I took a contact lens case and filled the 2
compartments with some Adolph's and put it in my little pack under the seat.
I can see it now... But officer, that white powder REALLY is Adolph's
Meat Tenderizer. Taste it, please!
