    Don't remember if this was addressed or not, but  the answer to your 
question is probably. 
 
    What kind of tower is it? If it's a lattice-type  UST, you can crank it 
up until the rotator is exposed and then lock the tower  down with some pieces 
of pipe or 2x4's thru the braces or U-bolts on  the legs so that it's safe to 
climb. 
 
    If you don't have mast locking bolts, then you  can use a U-bolt on top 
of the thrust bearing to support the mast while you  work on the rotator. You 
need to jack up the mast just far enough to remove  the rotator and you'll be 
good to go.
