Drax,
I use a regular open rope hook at the bottom of the pole and a single
reverse loop near the top of the pipe. You dont even need to tie a knot.
This way the loop at the top will keep the pole upright and the hook at the
bottom holds the weight. All you need to do is remove the hook and relax the
rope to remove it. No knots to untie.
