It really sounds like you have at least one dimension out of wack. The antenna
should at least be ok on 10 meters since (I believe) it isn't using the trap.
Another thing that could cause this would be something near the antenna like
your house maybe? Wiring or aluminim sidiing could goof things up.
Also, for what it's worth, I would suggest that you just try hooking up
your rig and checking the SWR (if you haven't done that already). My MFJ 259
has at least one antenna that it doesn't work well with. Perhaps you are
seeing something similar.
Good luck.

I threw a connector on the end and used the AEA analyzer with the tower
standing up..not cranked up but at 21 ft..and it's still the same..low on
all bands... On 20 lowest at 13900(1.63) , on 15M lowest at 20900(1.1), and
on 10M lowest at 27600(1.08)...I assume just shorten the dipole a bit?

Tom, I agree and I've tested HF beams only a few feet above ground with the
boom vertical and "aimed" towards the sky. Usually I've accomplished that
by laying the reflector across a couple of wooden saw horses and propping
the boom up against an elevated wooden deck.
The "tuning" usually does come out about the same as having the antenna
installed up much higher, at its final resting place.
If your A3S is resonating below the bands on all bands, sounds like you need
to shorten the tubing length between the boom and the first (10m) traps.
However be really sure the traps are installed in the correct positions and
are oriented the correct way before changing tubing lengths!
I've installed a few A3S's over the years and never had to change the
dimensions from the factory recommendations, but then that was several years
ago. Possibly they factory goofed since then and something's wrong with the
traps, or any number of variables.

They said, in the manual..you could test it facing up a few feet off the
ground...Haven't done it at 40 ft yet,,
