I agree with Denny on both points. The SWR bandwidth you see is wider than
one would expect and is probably indicative of excessive loss in the antenna
or radial system.
One of our local contesters K7OX had no luck gamma matching his tower on
80 due to BC interference on his 259 from a nearby station.. He bought the
MFJ filter unit, which is supposed to solve this problem, and it did not do
the job. I took my MFJ 202 noise bridge and a short wave receiver over and
it was easily matched.
