If you need a final strength of 3500 psi, a 5000 psi mix will reach that strength sooner than will a 3500 psi mix. Like maybe one week instead of 2-3 weeks. If saving cure time is important it might be worth the extra cost, but you'll need to keep it watered and cool longer so it doesn't crack.

Im about to pour 16 yards of concrete for an HDX-689. Are there any real benefits to using 5000 psi vs 3500 psi concrete?
