I have been intuitively doing this for a long time on nearly
every bolt I tighten, including my HDX-5106
1 inch bolts. They especially have a very distinct increase in effort
since I greased them. If greased and no thread damage, they often won't
even go 1/4 turn with a wrench after reaching the hand tight
point.
