Delta loops are not much different than square or diamond loops,
as used on quads. A square loop is basically a stack of
Moxon dipoles, with a stacking distance of 1/4 wavelength.
While this has a slight amount of gain over a dipole, that
gain doesn't carry over when you use four of them to make
a beam. A 4 element quad is basically a stack of 4 element
Moxon Yagi's, and there is virtually no stacking gain at
1/4 wavelength. Not even the stacking gain of an individual
loop. Pattern multiplication does not simply combine the
underlying gains. This is because the stack suppresses
radiation in directions where there is very little power
in the first place from the individual Yagi's.
