The Telrex has the 4:1 Balun achieved by connecting the phasing lines to the
T feed system as shown in the pictorals of their manual.  You should feed
the system with a ½ wavelength or full wavelength coax feed to the first
attach point and adjust for lowest SWR at the center point of the desired
band segment.  The Antenna should be at least 5 ? 6 ft off of the ground (on
top of a wooden step ladder is quite convenient).  A tuner should not be
used.

 

If the above does not work.  Check all connections and velocity factor
adjusted wavelength of the phasing wire.  If it is not working, I would
first suspect the phasing wire coax and try a different one.  If that
doesn?t work, make sure ALL connections in the Driven element and T do not
have oxide corrosion resistance.  Check also the rest of the elements.  If
the reflector or directors are not functioning, the T match will not likely
match 1:1.
