Most of my 12v equipment was manufactured with round dc jacks. This same
connector is common on wallwarts. I have a number of cables with this plug
connected to a 4 amp power supply. Everything is easy to plug in and swap
around without having to modify the equipment or make adapters. I have not
found a need for PowerPole connectors.

What am I missing about PowerPole connectors?

It seems to me to be a solution in search of a problem. What do they
do that you can't do with a crimp type ring terminal and a screw type
terminal strip at much lower cost?

It looks to me like someone wanted to make some money by inventing a
product that didn't need inventing and then selling to hams as if it
were a necessity.

Am I wrong?
