I've used BuryFlex for probably almost as long as its been around. At least since I became aware of it and Steve is a good guy to work with.

Since becoming acquainted with its low loss ans very rugged jacket that's tough and slippery. I now purchase 500' at a time, although that's the way I purchase most coax although I have purchased LMR-400 and 600 in 1000' rolls

I no longer have the big array on the 100' 45G with a need for 5 runs of LMR-600, but with the addition of the LM470 I still have a use for plenty of runs and coax fittings. I'd like to replace the 45G with a big crank up, but I think my wife would be upset if I tore up the yard with heavy machinery...again<:-))

For direct burial, I'd like a gel filled version of BuryFlex, but the jacket is so tough that its never been a problem. I've had many a coax fail, but never any BuryFlex.

Hi Jim, granted the loss is lower at HF but additional loss is still
additional loss that could be avoided. I would not suggest replacing an
existing
run of 8214 used on 80 meters. The time for that decision is when the
cable is purchased if one wants to get full value from the product.
I saw that Belden 8267 (RG213) has a non contaminating PVC jacket and that
would represent good value especially for the lower bands where the loss is
  already low.
I personally would choose Davis RF Buryflex over any of the Belden cables.
The quality and low loss has been proven and without the need to fund an
international marketing organization, the cost is substantially lower. I do
sell some Belden cable for those who insist on the brand.

Right. I'm looking at the thick Belden catalog. 9251 is the only one
that is listed as non-contaminating.

That said, how much of a problem is that at HF? I wouldn't think much.
At UHF, yes.

Hi Jim, it is not widely known but Belden 8214 does not have a
non-contaminating jacket. I just confirmed it on the 8214 data sheet

to make sure I remembered it correctly.
Too bad as it is a very nice coax otherwise. 73,

I have nagging doubts about using cables with a solid foil shield for a
rotor loop.

I would share your concern.

I do like the idea of double shielded cables so RG213, RG 8 etc are off
the table for now.

I wouldn't worry about "double-shielding," but rather the quality of the
shield. Look through the Belden catalog for an RG8 or RG213 with a
robust copper braid shield and stranded center. Look at 8237, 8268,
8214. or 9251. All are 97% shield coverage. Check out vendors like
Markertek. 9251 has non-contaminating jacket. 8214 is #11 center; the
others are #13.

You don't need a lot of coax for the rotor loop, so cost is hardly a
factor -- I'd be more concerned about finding someone to sell you short
lengths. :)
