Use a Tupperware box, any good sealing plastic box, or sealing glass jar
large enough to hold the tube(s). After use, just cap it and put the
tube in the box and snap on the cover. I purchased a bunch a couple
years before retiring in 97. After over 20 years, ost of it is still
good including partially used tubes. That is way past the expiration
date. Glass jars with sealing tops (used for canning) work very well
on tubes that have been opened. I've been able to get right down to the
bottom on some squeeze tubes.
The ones without the acetic acid smell fail before the ones with the
acid smell, but they still last a long time past the expiration date,
They tend to separate out.

GE silicone caulk is pretty good. I use the 50 year rated stuff for
all kinds of weather sealing. Comes in tubes like toothpaste or in
cardboard tubes that typically go bad before you use all of it. If you
have a tube of silicone rubber caulk to go bad, don't toss it out. It
makes a great sand paper cleaner. I use it in place of the product
sold for cleaning my belt sander belts. It lasts longer and does a
better job and as it is repurposed trash it isn't too expensive.

Well folks I am back.
I have now applied my Phillystran to the boom truss and the foe and
aft guys and clamped them as suggested. I also purchased Vinyl End
Caps for
the correct size Phillystran. When I went to install the end caps
they were
very loose. What is the CORRECT way to put the end caps on the
Phillystran?
