Isn't Phillystran overkill for that application? If you were to even try to 
preload it (I don't know why you would need or want to do so in this case) 
wouldn't it rip the antenna apart?

Folks:
    I am still new at this and I get my  terminology mixed up. The use of
the Phillystran is for the Truss  and   the lines from the 40 meter radiator
to the boom ends.
