There is nothing wrong with that. I use a single hose clamp, either the
special type with a stainless steel flap or a standard hose clamp along with
a layer of thin stainless or aluminum (shim stock, flashing, etc) between
the copper and galvanizing.

What's the best way to connect the copper wire/strap to the 55G tower leg?
I'm planning to clean the galvanized leg, wrap the leg with a layer of
0.005"
SS shim stock and then use a couple of SS hose clamps to hold the wire
against
the tower leg.
Is that the right way to do the attachment?
Should I use any copper paste as well?
