Given the similarity of name to Copperweld (which is a tradename), is it aluminum clad steel wire? This stuff is very common in electrical transmission and distribution (although in larger sizes it's stranded).

they've got lots of distributors - of course, they tend to be "industrial" and you probably can't buy just 10 feet. Is the stuff on the antenna stranded or solid?


Maybe copper clad steel (Copperweld) would work? You'd have to work out the aluminum-copper interface problem.
