Tony,
The reason is that some of us old school hams like myself have always soldered
the connectors in the past and now after adopting the
new crimp connectors, are still anal about soldering the center pin. Maybe it
is not really needed for insurance on the center pin electrical
connection, and yes it is aother step, but it makes me feel better. hihi
