another vote for go fiber.

These days you can get desktop/soho switches with SFP ports for fairly
inexpensive costs, and fibre is 100% surge protection, vs any copper
based converter.

Plus as speeds keep increasing getting 10g over 300' of copper can be
a challenge, its no problem at all for fibre.
